Louise Freshman Brown workshop 2016

Thought it might be interesting to put up a few works in progress from a recent workshop I attended with the wonderful person and phenomenal teacher, Louise Freshman Brown.  She's always an inspiration.  These pics show a still life setup and a few pieces I created from the setup, starting with painting then working into them with drawing and collage.  Nothing is resolved as yet and you can see a few versions of the same pieces, but they were a fun start. I've been teaching blind contour drawing and still life painting with my own students, particularly the 8th grade, so it was freeing and not a little humbling to be practicing what I preach.  I plan to go back into most of these to refine the portraits and adjust things here and there.
